 ਤਿਆਗ ਤੇ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਦਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ ਕਿਸਾਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਪਦੀ ਧੁੱਪ ਕੜਾਕੇ ਦੀ ਠੰਡ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ । ਸਾਡਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ । ਜੇਕਰ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ , ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਨੰਬਰ ਤੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਕ ਕਹਾਵਤ ਹੈ  ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।  ਇਸ    ਕਰਕੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਪਰ ਅੱਜ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਦਿਨੋਂ ਦਿਨ ਘਟਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਜੋ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦਿਨੋ ਦਿਨ ਵਿਗੜਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ  ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਭੱਜਦੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਨੋਂ ਦਿਨ ਭੁਲਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ  ਦਿਨੋਂ ਦਿਨ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਘੱਟਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ , ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵੱਲ ਵਧਦੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ , ਅੱਜਕਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਹੈ। ਕੁਝ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਤੰਗ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ , ਜਦੋਂ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਤੇ ਗੜੇਮਾਰੀ ਜਾਂ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ,  ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਫਸਲਾਂ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ  ਹਨ । ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਤਮ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਦੀ ਦੁਰਦਸ਼ਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਬੁਰੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ । ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਕਰਜੇ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ , ਜੇਕਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਤਾਂ ਦਿਨੋਂ ਦਿਨ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਘੱਟਦੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ । ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਇਕ ਸਮਾਂ ਐਸਾ ਆਏਗਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ।
(ਫਸਲ ਫਾਊਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ) Fasal Foundation ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ  ਨੂੰ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ ,ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਾਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ।
